Wouldn't it be cool if you could backup your camera roll to your self hosted Pixelfed server, privately, keeping the original file intact?
They wouldn't be publicly accessible, unless you want to create a share link, and would be organized with album and tag support, with client side AI recognition to enable powerful search?

@pixelfed@mastodon.social I am not a fan of back-up "in-the-cloud", to much energy are used for all kind of IT-things "in-the-cloud". I only use "off-the-grid" back-up, that only need a little bit of energy when I use it.

Keep in mind this feature is designed for self-hosted servers, pixelfed.social for example may only limit this to paid subscribers. More details soon!
