I like to listen to articles and books and the state of text-to-speech on macOS isn&#39;t much better than 1997&#39;s Fitter Happier on OK Computer. The Siri voices are an improvement over the defaults, but with Apple&#39;s improvement in hardware it feels like we haven&#39;t had a similar level of improvement in TTS abilities. Anyway, I&#39;ve been testing out kokoro (https://github.com/hexgrad/kokoro) and I think it&#39;s an improvement over the Siri options.

Got to see Cuban guitarist Eliades Ochoa and his band play last night and it was such a treat. In an interview before the show he said that there is no difference between past and present in music--it&#39;s all one now.

Microsoft replaced the settings button in Teams with &quot;Unlock Premium&quot; and I think that means it&#39;s ok to shut down your computer, maybe forever.

The band I play with opened for a band from MT last night. We haven&#39;t played for a while so it was great to be able to put an hour of music together fairly quickly. Also great to meet and talk with other music nerds about gear or whatever and hear their show. Very encouraging all around.

Listening to the NPR analysis of the Iran war this morning and I haven&#39;t heard them mention China once. Seems like the media is going to need a &#39;China has entered the chat&#39; moment at some point.

I&#39;ve been using @Vivaldi as my primary browser at home for a while now and it&#39;s great. One feature that I really appreciate is the built-in stylesheet for RSS feeds. If you bring up a feed you can see what&#39;s there at a glance. Every other browser shows you the XML.
