Well, i&#39;ve bitten the bullet. I ordered supplies for etching my own PCBs. I think my process will be as follows: The design will be printed on regular paper using a toner printer. I will use 100x150mm PCB blanks which come with a photosensitive layer already bonded. Using mineral oil, i can make the paper (mostly) transparent while the toner blocks the light. Then i will use an array of slightly UV leds to expose the board. Unexposed photoresist will be removed using a solution of sod...

This will be the rough idea for exposing the boards. 12 UV LEDs (mostly UV-A) will be running at fair power, approximately 1W each. Now that I think about it, it might be a bit overkill. Or maybe not. I have no idea! Because of the high power I have bonden the LEDs to a small heat spreader plate, which are thermally coupled to an aluminium L-profile. This also mounts them in place. I have just finished etching my first board. What an adventure. I discovered that my printer prints in higher resolution when printing from Windows, even though there aren&#39;t really any resolution settings to be found. I printed a test pattern on transparent paper and immediately forgot to flip it. I&#39;m not too thrilled with the printing quality (imo its a bit smudgy sometimes) but the fine features are definitely there. I exposed the 4 different sections in 10 second intervals,...

So! I adjusted the parameters a bit and made sure i got good contact between the design and the board. That last one helped immensely! I can now get a crisp clear transfer of the design into the photoresist. .. And thats where a problem lies. My printer isn&#39;t the best, and it especially doesn&#39;t play well with transparent paper. Even on the darkest setting, the design just doesn&#39;t look dark enough. Its calibration time! My P1S 3D printer has got an XY skew somewhere, and the bed leveling compensation is moving quite a bit when traveling along the bed. So I have just performed a manual bed leveling using the adjustment screws and am now running the automatic calibration. After that I will perform the skew calibration

Wow! This thing just quieted the fuck down after running the full calibration. I think they added noise suppression in a firmware update and i never performed it
