Well, i've bitten the bullet. I ordered supplies for etching my own PCBs.
I think my process will be as follows:
The design will be printed on regular paper using a toner printer. I will use 100x150mm PCB blanks which come with a photosensitive layer already bonded. Using mineral oil, i can make the paper (mostly) transparent while the toner blocks the light.
Then i will use an array of slightly UV leds to expose the board. Unexposed photoresist will be removed using a solution of sodium hydroxide which i can get in crystal form at the hardware store. Then the design can be etched using sodium persulfate which i can get at a specialized electronics store.
Not sure how to remove the exposed photoresist.
If i can master this process then i'll see if i can modify my K8200 3d printer for milling and drilling the boards.
