  Spent the past few years as a car-hater in the USA, but since I plan to live in a remote-ish area of Spain, I'll need a car. So I'm looking at used EV's in Europe, that won't be crazy expensive, and also will allow me to go from a remote area to a city now and then (circa 200km one way). Anyone got recommendations? #EV

  Optimizing solar panel orientation for winter production comes down to placing them facing south at a very steep angle (Between 60º and 90º, depending on location). On top of that, solar panel performance is linearly correlated with temperature - the colder, the better they perform.   You know that movie trope of flashing a fake badge quickly to fool someone into thinking you are a cop? A lot of "startups" are just assholes quickly flashing badges for non-viable technologies and hoping no one looks too close or understands what they are doing.

  I've been deleting my online profiles to try to get a bit of privacy. Theres a website called ContactOut that scrapes public profiles and creates copies on their website. Just had to send a take down request for a profile of mine I'd never agreed to. Fucking bastards.
