  Over on the book of faces the mansplainers have once again come out to play. Every post I make, regularly tagging me in AI generated content in a mind numbing game of trying to catch me out as an AI fact checker, telling me why I am wrong. I am so fucking tired of it. I know you have doctorates as well, but yours aren't in this exact field. None of you are active researchers, SIT THE FUCK DOWN. I'm too sick and tired and burned out for this shit.

  This year has been kicking my ass. The emergency renovation, the allergies and having to temporarily move away from my family, losing my chance at a permanent role and not having my contract renewed, being sick from the worlds most measly cold for four weeks. I'm teaching my beloved course next semester for the last time at least for a while, the world is going to crap and so is my health. I'm so tired

Their hollow yucca fell down and they found a new home just a block away so we still see them (functionally different bees, but they will always be ours in our hearts). I had all the same fears, especially as I am allergic, but i stopped worrying, bees really don't want to sting you. I do wish we had bumbl...

  One of my favorite research movies that I keep coming back to is Real Genius. It has aged a little but not as badly as most movies of that age. But it matters in that it raises the question: what can our research be used for? It had a big impact on me as I grew up and now as a researcher.
