  @David@setouchi.social @greg@flipboard.social @surf@flipboard.social FWIW every mastodon client has this issue, you just rarely notice it. ActivityPub posts require federation to happen via follows which means that sometimes you'll miss replies from people that are not yet federated with your instance. All that said, we will be able to get Surf working at the same level as all the other clients out there. Stay tuned.

We also wanted to enable new users to the social web to be able to easily sign up and create an account that could seamlessly work across protocols. As a result, the following feed experience has been a lower priority because we know there are plenty of other apps out there that do a great job at this for Mastodon users....

  Flying back from #SxSW where I evangelized #ActivtyPub, #Mastodon and the #Fediverse. It’s crazy how few people have even heard of this movement and all anyone could talk about was #GenerativeAI. I felt like an eccentric prophet holding a sign with scrawled writing “The end of the walled gardens is nigh” But as many of you on Mastodon already know, the dawn of the open social web is here now and next SXSW is likely to be very different.
