I was actually working on another app for myself where you open an eBook (.epub) and then can also open an audio book, and it uses a speech-to-text (fully offline and locally duh) to sync the text and the audio, and it highlights it karaoke style. and cuz of that you don't need to scroll and I found it sooo much easier to focus on the text, and when I do get distracted for a moment, I don't actually lose my spot I used this for 3 hours straight on my flight 😁 I luv it (do let me know...

altbot v2.5 is out! fixed non-english support! switched to a two model setup: gemma3:1b handles translations while qwen3-vl does the image processing stuff. gemma3:1b is surprisingly good at translations for such a tiny model?? now running 23.7gb out of 24gb vram on my server, but everything stays hot and loaded so no cold start penalty (which would have been very bad for power usage especially) also pixelfed should work again since thes gdpr update (hopefully?? i don't have an account t...

Hi so, i've been putting this off for a bit but i think i need to say something about it i run a bunch of stuff for free,, altbot, fuzzies.wtf, wellness-p.ing, ventboard.site and a few other things. mostly i just quietly covered the costs of whatever the donations couldn't, using my own money. that was fine especially when i lived at home. i moved to uni. now the gap kinda comes out of my food budget. which... is not ideal.. server and infrastructure costs run me $165/mo. donations...
