They could have written: "Solutions will be chosen in a neutral manner, based on how effective they are at solving a problem". instead of... this. Really, this single sentence is the one and only thing that pushes me away from OpenBSD. What do they consider politics? Do they consider transgender people to be "politics"? Are disabled people also "politics"? Is a screen reader considered "politics" since it helps a minority? How about a colorblind filter?...

I have this silly idea of taking busybox, toybox, gnucoreutils and the freebsd coreutils and writing the manpages for the posix shell utilities in a way that you can get manpages that show actual portable flags and behavior instead of relying on the featureset from POSIX to make portable scripts when most coreutils share flags that are not in POSIX and are useful. Same for shell builtins.

Can someone explain me why when you try to store the output of a printf into a variable in the shell it just doesn't store the newline at the end? It will store any other newlines but if the newline is at the end it will just not store it in the variable. #shell #bash #debian

It's funny how I used to always record video in 16:9 because it was the "cool cinematographic experience" (not really, movies are even wider) but now I'm back to recording at 4:3, with a square overlay on top for centering in case I want to crop the video into a square. You know why they are building them. They have this notion that "oh AI is very expensive to run, we can't make a profit." so they are saying "oh wait, but, if we improve production, then the costs will go down, like with microchips right?". But, that's not really applicable in the way they believe. Electricity prices are not flexible, putting a bunch of specialized AI machines in the same building won't lower the AI "token" prices as much as they expect.
