  @binsk@infosec.town that was my mum. She piddled around for ages too.... I just don't have the time for it.... but I wonder if I'll end up like her. There is something fab about the way it disconnects a person from the matrix.

  I went out into the garden at 10:30pm in the dark to observe the meteorites. I gave myself time for my eyes to adjust. I wrapped up warm.   I enjoy #physics and i enjoy #teaching so... when the adversarial school system got too much for me, the 'cruel mistress' known as #Youtube seemed like a potential outlet.   @TheZorse@hear-me.social I believe AI has its uses... I use it to help focus voice overs in my videos. It makes mistakes, uses phrases I wouldn't and is sickingly upbeat all the time. Tonnes better than shifting through a pike of search engine results i think. But using it to set the tone of writing... how aweful. And AI images that it generates are so cringe worthy.

I have been trying to replace it with podcasts etc. It is a lower level of noise on the anxiety inducing meter. Would be better to have nothing... but that would mean listening to my own self talk. And that's not good

  @TheZorse@hear-me.social I hear you. Feels like a constant battle to keep anger, anxiety, frustration etc at bay. Listening to news on and off is really not good at all (for me). I wasn't built to have adrenaline constantly pumped out into my blood stream. I sense the still small voice has faded a little for me.

  I miss the old Internet... the pure excitement of finding websites by enthusiastic creators motivated by love. And forums where people talked and it was easy to get help. And not being asked about cookies or worrying about seo, or mobile screens, or adverts, trackers, bad actors, etc. And dont get me started on #socialmedia. Sigh. It was fun back then.   Today I am going to visit the #orthodox monastery. When I was a younger Christian I used to think that monks and nuns should do something more useful with their time. Now I look back at myself and wonder how I could have been so thick and ill informed. Lord have mercy. Can't wait to get into that sacred space and speak to some of the brothers and sisters.
