  Earlier today I was standing in line at the checkout, getting groceries. I overheard two teenagers discussing the finer points of...and I wish I was kidding, getting Shazam to ID the passing of gas as a song title. Now being a man of the world, I can think of a few musical genres that might be easy wins for their self-assigned task. Regardless of title. But how does one decide this is a worthwhile endeavor? 🤔

  I wanted a music player that was both ridiculous and "felt" like a proper Walkman (Player view)...with accurately moving spools, working buttons at the top of the Walkman that control the functions (ff/rewind, toggle fn to change it to <>) Yes, your keyboard media keys controls work.   I need to make a few tweaks before I source code this. However, did this with Iced on Rust via NixOS. Just for fun as it sparks joy. Rationale: MP3 music players are...well, kind of generic. So, I wanted something weird, 80s and MINE. Plus, I miss tapes and the Walkman - so I brought it to life.

  Just ran what my Google maps walk tells me is roughly two miles trying to catch a scared, lose dog. We're talking Ferris Bueller fence jumping, leaping through yards. Myself and another person carefully tracked the dog and lost it finally. We came close a few times, but dog was skiddish. Dog capture FAILED, but, pretty sure I sold her on the idea of Framework as we walked back many blocks. Oh, I didn't have time for socks or shoes. Slip-ons and no socks. Soaking my feet now.

  First, yes, someone on Reddit made this with AI. The video's message is still valid. How it was made is more irony than anything. The theme is based in the '90s and they're looking to the Future. They're looking at things that are just foreign concepts to them and I find that interesting and find myself reflecting on that. I'm a '80s Gen X kid, and this video is more targeted toward millennials, but the point that this video makes is spot on.

  I'm not going to give away too much info, but I will say this. Document format compliance. Let's just say proprietary software, fails badly at this. Think permits. Think local government documentation rejection rates. You're welcome. We have local projects that we're working on here at the house and we discovered that I was able to streamline stuff by doing it myself whereas some of the big firms apparently as I was told by a clerk fail often.
