Simpler systems are better equipped to face complex environments because they lack intricate causal structures that need protection. The longest-living organisms in this world are single-celled organisms, not humans.

  Assembly-line education breaks subjects into too many tiny pieces: mathematics is not a floating abstract totem, but a compressed expression of the physical world.
