  I am a little shocked at the lack of solidarity I see between artists working in different mediums wrt genAI. Musicians who would never use it to make music use it to make cover art Graphic artists reach for it to make music over their videos Writers use it to illustrate their articles And, considering software development an art, many use it to create web sites or apps to host their art. None of this is necessary. All of this is harmful to the other artists. Collaborate ffs. Stop it.

  When you find useful linux commands to do some niche thing one time and you dont want, or have time, to become an expert in that particular subsystem so that the solution you found becomes part of your DNA... where do you file away those little commands for recall later?   I think my phone has a better graphics processor than my shitty desktop pc. I want desktop mode on android on /e/os or graphene Why are we paying for these expensive phones and not using them as desktops by plugging them into a docking station? This is the future I want but like already possible yesterday right?

  #plexamp paid has some amazing platlisting features. Trying out #jellyfin and #navidrome self hosting ... are there any players that have similarly awesome features? I suppose the plex features are mainly server side tho (sonic analysis stuff). But can I get close? Android app suggestions?

  You. Yes you. You don't have a Roku or Chromecast or Fire stick. You've got Linux running on a small device (raspberry pi or mini pc or ?) connected to your TV that you use to see local videos and photos and music and watch streaming stuff using a remote. You also somehow cast media from your phone to it. How are you doing this, you wizard? Tell me all about it. Seriously. What's the best alternative?

  Finding that #jellyfin is really slow for my personal photos and videos library. Now, I do have 200,000 files in there, but certainly no more than a few hundred in any given folder. At the top level, in fact, there are 2 folders and just entering the library takes 1-2 minutes to render those 2 alone. Is this expected? Not really the focus? Anything I can do to speed things up? I'm not really sure it ever really finished scanning after a week, honestly.
