FEDIVERSE HIVEMIND: Have you noticed a sharp 2026 increase in people just literally flaking off things they said they&#39;d do? Work commitments, deadlines, general promises, followup calls for things where *they actually want your money*, doesn&#39;t matter which, it&#39;s legitimately less than 50/50 if it&#39;s actually going to happen? &quot;You said you would and then you didn&#39;t, what was I supposed to think?&quot; is now apparently fighting words?

After a few weeks writing a *lot* of book reviews (my fault, I scheduled this, no schedule survives contact right now)-- --suddenly a piece of literary theory tips over in my head -- this is why X is a common failure mode in climate fiction; this is how it functions; this is how I can go and *make it work better in my own stuff* -- and right. Enough flinging myself against people&#39;s work with the whole brain, and the pipes clear, the pumps prime, this is why I overbook myself doing this....

#TOpoli / #TOCouncil veterans: Does anybody remember who put together the very grassroots council/mayoral debates in 2014? Not City Idol but some overlap between the teams or format? I need this for Positive Purposes. If anyone recalls, vastly appreciate it.

Team, riddle me this, because this is the third time I&#39;ve found this weird little political meme and it&#39;s both so ahistorical and weird that I&#39;ve got to ask: The idea that colonizers invented clocks to impose linear time on innocent, free, unscheduled populations and force their bodies into the machine. That linear time and measuring time is a *plot* of some sort. Who started this one? How&#39;s this getting passed around in a world of Stonehenge, Babylonian sundial...
