  Well, it looks like Instapaper cutting off sending articles to Kindle in a free account is finally going to push me to jailbreaking my old Kindle. I''m looking at self-hosted @wallabag and KOreader to replace my offline reading of longer articles that has been broken since February.

  I recovered my first radiosonde today! Launched from Spokane, this one landed close enough to town to try to follow it, but a bit farther than predicted, so I chased it into Idaho. It landed behind a farmer's field, he drove me back in his four-wheeler to recover it after I explained what I was looking for. He may have been somewhat amused that I was looking for it on purpose, he has found them on his land before while working the fields. #NOAA #radiosonde

  I got out yesterday to check out the bike-in campsite on Lake Spokane (the only one designated as such, as far as I am aware).   I have dipped into BSky a couple times in the past few days to see some of the Artemis discussion, and there are a lot of good scientists there, but to me it is as unbearable as Twitter was with ragebait politics and unhinged conspiracy theories mixed into everything. There is no shield from politics chatter these days, but at least on Mastodon I feel like I have more control and there is less engagement-driven ragebait.
