just a reminder to everyone that #ai companies are buying old books and then actively fucking destroying them once they've been used for training data by removing the spine so you being your own little librarian is more important than ever. get books, keep books, especially old books. humanity will thank you for it.

chums, riddle me this. is there such a thing as a summer hat for men that is not: A: a baseball cap B: a deeply embarrassing fedora or fedora-adjacent travesty or C: something you see old men who have given up wearing please help i would like to both avoid sunstroke and look okay while doing it (categories A through C may have some overlap)

honest question for honest people what is the household purchase you made that most drastically improved your quality of life? like for instance i bought a dishwasher last month and not having to scrub the 100 individual knives and forks has been a release from a mental prison i have long been tunneling out of because i finally have money again and i would like to use some of it to do something that is nice for me? so i can live happier? or something?
