I swear microsoft’s model from the getgo was “sell crap so we can make money from abusing our users technical inability and need for support”. Finally upgraded the CPU in my OptiPlex 7010 MT from an i5-3470 to an i7-3770. It's running great! #OpenBSD is great for old hardware.

i&#39;ve recently picked up an old #lisp project of mine which is a graphical chess engine in common lisp using pure opengl and sdl2. https://codeberg.org/Izder456/cl-chess/ the reason i chose cl for it is the parsing capabilities would be really handy in parsing chess.com or similar playback files and translating them to an animated gameplay simulation I hate opengl. @lw@mastodon.bsd.cafe I don't think you can do it with `route`, as the stacks are quite separated. But- the `af-to` keyword in pf.conf might be what you're looking for.

topgrade 60.91s user 95.21s system 16% cpu 15:32.98 total doing a distributed update with topgrade across a fleet of about 15 different network appliances, random sbcs, and vms on my home network only took around 15 minutes. thats on average, 1 minute per system. i don’t even have fast internet, (100mbit), maybe the mirrors were just forgiving tonight

What led up to my switch to #openbsd? I was fucking around with linux distros among other unixen in libvirt and qemu-kvm on my gentoo box to avoid distrohopping cos i was starting to get frustrated with the linux ecosystem and community chaos. Eventually i installed openbsd in a vm and really liked it. Nuked my gentoo install with openbsd and went full send. Never looked back. though occasionally ill dick around with weird niche poweruser linux distros when bored on spare hardware.

Since every system wide config that packages use is in /etc i didn't need to reconfigure anything either. God #OpenBSD rocks
