  Spent the early morning updating dependencies of my "Simple Open-source Directory-based API for Podcasts" aka Soda https://codeberg.org/hukl/soda/src/tag/v0.9.2 I also added 2 ways of rescanning the episodes/assets dir without restarting and replaced a deprecated library. It is soooo much fun to do minimal implementations. Everything is so fast. Very few dependencies to worry about. Pure joy :)

  I know Onshape is yet another US based "cloud" tool but it is a very good one. It is one of the few examples which deserve the title "Web Application". It works better than some native desktop apps and the free version is quite powerful - in terms of enabling a beginner like me to realize quite intricate designs. Another aspect I really like is that sharing and collaborating is built in and import/export is part of the free plan. To be fair, I still need to try FreeCad …...

  Damn all the Rush dates in Germany next year are when I'm somewhere else. I'm not a huge Rush fan - but I like some of their songs a lot and have tons of respect for their songwriting and skill. For some reason I feel compelled to seem them live. With their new tour drummer Annika Nilles, Geddy and Alex seem to really enjoy playing all these "crazy" songs. Well either go to a concert somewhere else in Europe or hope they release some official recording that I can blast on...

  Been stumbling upon Linda Perry, mostly known as singer of the 4 Non Blondes. Turns out she has quite the successful career as a producer behind the scenes which almost nobody would know about.   I feel like if Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr would write a health book it would be the only celebrity advice I'd follow. How the F are both 80+ years old and still seem like in their early 60s. I hope it's just something like what you can read online, being vegetarian, exercise and not drinking alcohol.

  Me, my Bora Centipede and my Makita Plunge Saw made good progress on the little cabinet project today - in my kitchen 😂 But as you can see - the vacuum dust thingy worked quite well

  Done - one of the best wood projects in terms of accuracy and fit. Only issue - its quite heavy. Maybe 12 or 15mm Multiplex would’ve been sufficient :) Lesson learned. Bit this goes into a place where it won’t be moved.

  I'm skeptical about constant economic growth. If you'd argue the current "system" would collapse I'd say that it would require some rebalancing for sure. But on a purely logical basis infinite growth is not sustainable. I'm also skeptical that software always has to evolve further. E.g. Why keep releasing new versions of Ruby on Rails? After 20+ years are there still problems to solve? Sure, the occasional patch for bug fixes and compatibility...

  My old IKEA standing desk (Bekant) is ok but it's a bit slow, has no presets and the table top looks bad after 7 years. Ordered the 2026 E7 Pro from Flexispot and got a nice table top for free when the office of a former employer closed. What a difference in build quality and performance. This was also a nice opportunity to test some tools because I needed to mark and pre-drill all the holes for the frame. First time i put the center punch to good use.

  Ok, slowly getting the hang of Onshape and yes, you can do pretty neat stuff. From explosion drawings, parts lists to full assemblies. I think this is one of the few cases that is 100% worthy of the term "web application"

  (un)Usual Suspects in Berlin: Ich habe einen IKEA Bekant Stehschreibtisch abzugeben. Ist noch das alte Modell. Tischplatte müsste man ggf. aufhübschen aber er funktioniert und ich habe sogar passende Spareparts um die Tischplatte zu tauschen. Hat irgendjemand Interesse? Verschenke ich auch gerne an "gemeinnützige" Gruppen und oder Einzelpersonen. Ich will eigentlich nur schnell wieder Platz in der Bude :) 
Ich warte mal 24h bevor ich den auf Kleinanzeigen poste

  Are you still delivering images on your website in jpeg or png format? If so, consider switching to webp and avif. You can often save substantial amounts of storage space and traffic with equal if not superior quality. This will improve loading times for your users and reduce traffic costs (where that applies). Just batch converted a folder of pngs which ended up ~ 1/6th of the size (ymmv). for f in *.png; do magick "$f" -quality 95 "${f%.*}.avif" done...

  You want to inspect traffic on a remote host but with the convenience of a Wireshark running locally? May I share this snippet with you? :) ssh <host> sudo tcpdump \ -i <interface> -U \ -w - "not port 22" | wireshark -i - -k (this is for passwordless sudo accounts - not sure how this behaves with required sudo passwords)

  Ich suche jemanden (idealer Weise in Berlin) der mir ein relativ simples Elektronik Projekt umsetzen kann. Die Topologie ist übersichtlich, aber wenn ich mich selber da reinfuchse wird es ewig dauern und ich hätte es lieber früher als später. Kennt jemand jemanden? Das ist Audio Related und deswegen hätte ich gerne jemanden der weiss was er/sie tut bzw qualitativ hochwertig arbeitet :) Bezahlen würde ich das natürlich auch. Idealer Weise so im ~1000€ Rahmen.

  I've been searching for a minimal yet flexible static site generator for technical documentation and I am currently evaluating Antora (which uses asciidoc) and so far it feels like the winner. A good example would be the Antora docs: https://docs.antora.org/antora/latest/ And Asciidoc is still human readable and in many ways markdown related.
