I'm skeptical about constant economic growth. If you'd argue the current "system" would collapse I'd say that it would require some rebalancing for sure. But on a purely logical basis infinite growth is not sustainable.
I'm also skeptical that software always has to evolve further. E.g. Why keep releasing new versions of Ruby on Rails? After 20+ years are there still problems to solve?
Sure, the occasional patch for bug fixes and compatibility but why the inherent need to add more features?
