RE: https://phpc.social/@horuskol/116968509514524902 Yeah, I found the error. Turns out to be about a dollar more expensive in summer and a dollar week cheaper in winter (without shifting use or modelling battery usage after filling up)

RE: https://phpc.social/@horuskol/116961522800215170 Those credit and bank details that weren't in the stolen data... Turns out the breach includes dates of birth, account information and the last four digits of credit cards or three digits of bank accounts.

Doing some data modelling to see if a solar sharer tariff would be better than our current import/export with battery. My first naive model from actual data (not time shifting usage into the sponge hours) is pretty marginal in summer, and rather expensive in winter. Which is at odds with some napkin maths I did last month. #Solar #HomeSolar #SolarBattery #Adelaide

Why do people feel like they have to preach in replies? There's always an option to keep your self-righteousness to yourself.

*sigh* Cue a new barrage of scam/spam purporting to be from Origin going to customers and ex-customers. "We don't believe they got credit card or bank details". Great. What about customer and billing numbers, emails, phone numbers, and other identifying information we have to provide to energy companies to get electricity. All of which can be used to con people into giving away credit card and bank details. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-07-22/origin-energy-investigating-poten...

Had a call from my "domain registrar" today offering "additional solutions" - they knew a lot of publicly available information about me and my domains, but nothing to prove their bona fides. They offered to send an email with a link, until I pointed out they can be spoofed. Told them they shouldn't be calling as I'd opted out of marketing calls. Not sure if they were after my domains or credit card details (or both) - but was happy to waste their time while I hung...

Finally found time to watch the season 4 finale of #StrangerThings last night. How is it possible for a show to be both epic and tedious?

I have an idea for a #Writing project in an almost-real world setting, but I need to figure out how to research things for accuracy. The story is set back in a particular English town sometime between 1988-1998 (exactly when depends on a few things). How do I go about (without "AI") finding out minutiae like: - what kind of mobile phones were generally available then (of at all)? - how likely is it a woman would be a Detective Sergeant working solo in Thames Valley Police ba...

First go at a gift card for my vinyl-loving nephew. Unfortunately, some tape wrecked the other side of the "disc". Second version went better, but no pictures as there's identifying details on it already. #Music #Design

I guess advertising are really starting to embrace genAI - because I really want an Adobe Canva Pepsi Max the next time I "scan that" at Woolworths. (Seriously - they all sound like the same ad to me).

Yesterday was a bit grey and cool, so thought we'd put on a rendang in the slow cooker (7 hours until dinner time). But it's nice and sunny again today. Oh well, still going to have rendang 😋 #Food #Autumn

Been wondering how to get properly scaled distances when #drawing in 2-point perspective - and after digging through extreme math-based StackExchange and half-assed Reddit answers, I finally came across an article that really helped: http://www.handprint.com/HP/WCL/perspect3.html#measurepoint

Almost squashed an idiot with the car today. Heading down Beach Road in Noarlunga, and this e-bike suddenly came from nowhere on my inside and disappeared up towards Christies Beach. I was doing 60 already. 😱 #Adelaide

Ripping down plywood sheets to make boxes for wall mounted tool store - figured a lot of time would be spent setting up and tearing down between each cut, so I first made a quick setup jig to secure the track and make it easy to slide sheets in for cutting. Worked pretty well. #WoodWorking
