It may welll be a silly nitpick, but the fact that to perform 2FA at work I have to use my personal mobile phone is something that keeps bugging me. Because unless it's due to a personal choice (like when I installed Slack for personal convenience) I should not have to be forced into using my personal stuff for work-related activities. I would like my personal and work life as separate as possible, thank you very much.

Today I'm remembering how a very fun part of pirating a video game back in the day was putting together a decent CD case artwork. I really enjoyed customising the copy so it would be nice to look at. Many of those ended uo as a mix of drawings I did myself with some collage of cut out screenshots and game art I would get from gaming magazines. It made my games library so much more interesting to look at. It looks like we're heading towards a future where I'll be doing that again, w...

Sony's announcement is terrible on so many levels. Because it's not just about the possibility of them revoking the license for a game you already paid for, it's also taking away choices for consumers on where to buy games, and killing the second hand market. I've been keeping an eye on a few games like Nioh 3 for a while. On the PS Store it's still marked at ยฃ64.99, while I can nowadays find a physical copy on eBay for ~ยฃ30. Fuck the never ending greed of these companies.

I'll never understand people that say "If I didn't have to work a job, I don't know what I would do with that much spare time". Like... Really? Are you telling me you have no interests, no hobbies, and no responsibilities outside of work?? Because me, I have hundreds or even thousands of books, video games, and movies to read, play, and watch. There's a myriad of things I want to try and learn. Places I want to visit. Experiences I want to... experience. New hobbies to...

I'm seeing several posts on the Zuckersite criticising the UK government for not reducing the VAT on fuel despite the hike in prices. In Spain the government has reduced the VAT on fuel. You know what has happened? Gas stations have not changed their prices, and instead of having lower fuel prices they've gotten higer profit margins. So yeah, maybe we need to find a different solution (cof cof nationalise the gas infrastructure cof cof)

Wait, Grime 2 is releasing tomorrow?? Yeah, I have to get my hands on that game. I loved the first game, and the demo of G2 was excellent. #metroidvania #soulsvania

The gameplay trailer of Mortal Shell 2 looks absolutely amazing. It looks like it's going to retain most of the original's DNA while, at the same time, pushing its boundaries, and leaning heavily on the brutality of executions and horror-style creature design. I'm super stoked for this game. Between this and Lords of the Fallen 2, this year we're in for a treat on the souls-like front. #MortalShell2 #soulslike

I've started reading Shadowmarch by Tad Williams and so far (30% of ghe first book in the tetralogy) I'm enjoying very much. Cool high fantasy with a very classical feeling and style, interesting characters, and an engaging plot. Also, is there a term for progressing in a book both on paper and, when I can't read because I have something to do (like wasing dishes), on audiobook? Because that's what I've been doing with this one and it's working q...

@robyn yeah, I'm very mindful that HR are not our friends, so they shouldn't hold their breath if they're expecing me to give them any ammo against myself ๐Ÿ˜… It's too bad that you're not able to do the same at your workplace ๐Ÿ˜”

Credits rolling on MiO: Memories in Orbit. But also, I'm still not done with the game. I still need to beat the secret final boss, and I want to get a couple more collectables around the map that I have missed during the playthrough. A really lovely metroidvania with a stunnuing artistic direction, a good plot that unfolds at a nice pace, responsive controls, and very challenging platforming and bosses. Some people have complained about runbacks and, honestly, I think they are not too...

Difficulty in games is like spice in food. If you're playing hard games regularly, you reach a point where new games that others consider hard are not much of a challenge anymore. Like right now I'm playing MiO, and one of the hidden late game bosses took me multiple tries to beat. And ok, I'll say that the boss is difficult. But after so many challenging MVs, after beating Nine Sols and Silksong... I don't think I would be a fair judge of MiO's difficult...

I miss the days when I could read the headline of a news piece and get the main bits of information out of it. "New game from renown Japanese developer gets surprising new content that makes some big changes to gameplay" gives me absolutely zero useful information. I despise clickbait.

Credits rolling on #GestaltSteamAndCinder. Decent #metroidvania without too much to highlight. Just an ok game, short, and extremely easy. My main problem with it is the ending. The game is VERY heavy on plot exposition (even though it's all quite predictable and by the numbers), and the ending feels like more than half of the game is cut content. It was so sudden and anticlimactic that it got me convinced I had reached the bad ending... Only to find online that no, it's the on...
