I'll never understand people that say "If I didn't have to work a job, I don't know what I would do with that much spare time". Like... Really? Are you telling me you have no interests, no hobbies, and no responsibilities outside of work?? Because me, I have hundreds or even thousands of books, video games, and movies to read, play, and watch. There's a myriad of things I want to try and learn. Places I want to visit. Experiences I want to... experience. New hobbies to discover. And on top of that, there's the day to day churn of cooking, cleaning, taking care of myself (gym, walking, and sports) and of my family... And if I still have some spare time after all of that? I could just relax and chill out without the constant existential dread of having to go to work in order to be able to pay my bills. So no, I really don't get that "I would not know what to do". It's absolutely alien to me.
