  g is for get_or_create Django's get_or_create is great. It lets you search for something in the database and craete it if it didn't exist.   I borrowed this book from library today and I love it. It's a reference book for a ton of different mechanics in board games. It explains the mechanics very well, lists examples of games that use them and give pros, cons and considerations for all of them. It does make a few weird judgements here and there that I found odd but other than those, it's a reference book that I'm planning to add to my bookshelf permanently in the future. #BoardGames #GameDesign #Books

  In a good world, this would have a potential to be a good thing: less discs created in the world. However, in the current world, this just means that Sony and/or the game developers have more power to decide that the game you purchased won't be available to you anymore and pull it from your library or make it impossible to re-download.   Holy shit, I just accidentally discovered a button in Affinity that turns a text box into multiple columns. All this time I've been doing that manually with multiple text boxes and having to adjust and reclip the text every time when I changed something. This is such a life changer.

  Preparing for next month's Roll the Zine, I visited home to take some photos of one of the first board games I remember: Nestori, a cross-country skiing game made for FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1989 in Lahti. It brought back a lot of memories. I was a very imaginative kid and in the box with the pieces I could find a bunch of papers where I had written down names of 1990s skiiers and their scores in tours I played alone over and over again. #BoardGames #RollTheZine

  Ooh boy, it's Friday and it's Taskmaster UK season! Season 21's first episode dropped yesterday and I've been saving it for a weekend starter with some burritos and tacos and sunshine. We're in a great Taskmaster era again: UK's 21st, Finland's 7th (they are finally getting better), Estonia's 1st season are on the way and the Netherlands' first season was just revealed 😍

  Happy #FediDonutFriday ! In December, I wrote down a goal/resolution/decision for this year: I choose to be happy. It took me almost four months to find a starting point but better late than never, right? I'm choosing to build the right circumstances for my happiness through action and stop my 6-year stretch of drifting aimlessly, waiting and mopeying around.
