  I ❤️ my tracksaw If you have the makita battery platform, getting their track saw is a no brainer. If you have any other battery platform (I’m primarily DeWalt), you should still get the Makita track saw. I got this originally as a stop-gap before my table saw, but it’s really so useful in scenarios where handling a work piece in the table saw would be unwieldy or dangerous with one person. #woodworking #carpentry

  So a while back I got a good deal on some old panel indicators, the kind that take little bayonet lamps (typically type 47). Well it turned out these had a resistor in series because the sockets were intended for neon lamps. Today I discovered those resistors are removable, and I was able to replace them with a piece of wire #electronics #retroTech

  OK, this is pretty unhinged, but I managed to print a replacement wheel for my bandsaw that came without the high speed drive wheel. While “it works”, I’m going to have this either machined or printed out of a more suitable material, because running this for any length of time to actually do work seems like A Bad Idea™️ The arbor that it sits on is somewhat cursed. It’s used for the low speed settings, but the hole for the shaft is not straight, causing it to wobble. The extra credit assignment...

  I've been troubleshooting some consumption reading discrepancies on my solar installation and these terrible power factor numbers are leaving me with questions. This was when a washing machine started running, but could a load really be that reactive?   I rent cars semi frequently, which is why I generally hate modern cars. I just got a brand new Hyundai Sonata (or Elantra or whatever) that has lane keeping but no adaptive cruise control. “I may ram the car in front of you, but at least I’ll keep you on the road while I do it” is a weird combination of safety features. #cars

  KiCad folks: Is there a way to make alternate symbols in a multi-unit symbol? I'm making tube symbols in the style of Tektronix (and others) where the A & B units of a Dual Triode would have half the envelope shown. If I flip one so the grid is coming out the other side, my half circle envelop will be facing the wrong way. If I made them separate symbols, they couldn't share a single footprint, right?
