#3goodthings All's well. Follow-up post-surgery appointment went well. I can now begin increasing my mobility and light lifting using common sense. Guess that means I'll be mowing the lawn next week. Opted for a movie afternoon & evening. First-time watch of Cocaine Bear and M3GAN. Yes, I opted for the absurd (they're so much fun). Warm bread & butter with a bowl of chili. #movies #random

Today, in the bread aisle, I met a Belgian Malinois named Lucian. He leaned against me and was genuinely interested in my existence. Lucian just may be ALL THREE good things later on tonight. #Dogsofmastodon Contender for all #3GoodThings

I didn't sleep very well last night. I think I was awake until about 4:30 a.m. Oh well. Going to pretend none of that happened other than my current complaint due to crankiness: Made the mistake of turning on the TV news. Those news anchors talking with their hands. Not sure when that started. It's an irritating distraction. Turned it off. Onto something more productive.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@gutenberg_org/116997647102247539 A little Salvador Dali trivial tidbit for Tuesday. Is #TrivialTidbitTuesday a thing? Maybe #TriviaTuesday would be better. #tarotcards #artwork #jamesbond007

A long restorative nap. Maybe too long ... nah. Peanut M&Ms. Just a few. Had a phone interview last Friday & a written interview last night. Next up: a video panel interview later this week (it all sounds very promising). I hope it's everything that I think it's going to be because I'm looking forward to this one. As a cautionary person though, I'm not holding my breath, but I keep thinking, gosh, wouldn't it be nice? #3GoodThings

Italian ice from Philly (i can't remember the name) has been a lifesaver for me. Refreshing, comforting, soothing my belly. Strawberry Lemonade. A big nap. The kind that leaves you disoriented when you return to earth. The quiet hum from an oscillating fan keeping me cool while I'm marooned on this couch. #3GoodThings

#3GoodThings I slept better last night and today. Sure I'm awake on/off during the night but it's tolerable. Especially for being in a recliner since last Friday. Wah! Breakfast: two eggs + two toast. The simple things, early memories are jogged by this breakfast. Medicine. The field of and the meds for treating our conditions. № 4: Mom.

#3GoodThings Pillows. A room entiely made of pillows would be even better. Fans. For their coolness and soothing sound. Makes sleeping more comfortable. My little dog. She follows behind me on my indoor walking schedule.

#3GoodThings The streaming channel: Alfred Hitchcock Presents because of its calm presentation of well-written stories that I can either watch or listen to while recooperating. Warm, gluten-free penne pasta with diced tomatoes and a smidgen of olive oil. Cool breeze pushing the smoke and humidity away.

#3GoodThings I got to watch TCM Turner Classic Movies for a couple of days. Oh how I miss having cable only for TCM #tcmparty Simple things like washing hair & clean clothes. Good people. Friendly, helpful, caring. I need more around me. ❤️

#3GoodThings Sitting outside in the early afternoon sunshine while picking at a newspaper crossword puzzle. Sweet, sour vinegar pickles/cucumbers. Yum. Watering the flowers, plants, and such and washing out & filling the birdbath. It's a relaxing, quiet, comforting task.

#3GoodThings Steamed broccoli. Oh how I forgot how much I love it. Conquered my anxiety, full-steam ahead, went to interview and guess what, felt really good about meeting them. In anticipation of the steamy heat tomorrow, I'm grateful for AC & fans to stay cool. Didn't intend to create #WordOfTheDay but here it is, it happened: steam.

#3GoodThings Pineapple pudding yellow cake with whipped cream on top. Ice cold. Over two hours. Is that a nap or a sleep? I took an early afternoon nap-eep? Sleap? Whatever it was, it was wonderful. Music. I was all over the place. A sample: L7, The Runaways, The Donnas, Babes in Toyland, Marian HIll, Lana Del Rey, Boz Scaggs. . .

#3GoodThings Spent an extra amount of meditative time watering the plants, scrubbing & filling the birdbaths. Mom and I went out & had a great lunch AND loved talking painting, drawing, techniques, mediums, etc. with the waiter. Inspiring to keep dabbling and creating.

#3GoodThings I bought some new bed pillows. Stay tuned. There's a 50/50 shot that I'll be well-rested and happy tomorrow, or, on the flip, my head will be on upside down, & I'll have to walk down the stairs like Linda Blair. I bought a new curling iron for my medium-long strawberry-red hair. Test drove it tonight. Whoa, my gray streaks shine like a comic book superhero. Ha! Mustard Potato Salad with tons of black pepper.

The garage was gutted, sanitized, mopped, and reorganized. *whew* Finished. I admitted to myself today that I really don't want holiday decorations ever again. Boxed up and gifted. The few ornaments I kept are the handblown glass bulbs Mom used to paint her idyllic winter village scenes. They're truly special. I will hang those on a small tabletop tree just for me. Maple Walnut ice cream. It's difficult to find sometimes, so finding it was a real treat. #3goodThings

#3GoodThings Completed a lot of telephone calls and sent emails to a gazillion places that I've had on my to-do list. The usual day-to-day living stuff. Don't say this too loudly *whispers* I have an informal meeting/interview tomorrow. Not sure if it's what I want but I'll ask questions & will see if this is it. Apples & bananas. I definitely had my share today.

Watching DEAD RINGER (1963) A few tidbits: Bette Davis as both the good and the bad twin. What a corny movie, but fun anyways. Karl Malden is acting the hell out of his part. I adore Paul Henreid, but in this one, he's the director. George Macready of Gilda fame! He always delivers his lines with such a suave, cool, alluring tone. Interesting how 1960s horror movies many times featured a harpsichord playing the suspenseful music. #BetteDavis #Classic #Movies #OldHollywood

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings Salt & vinegar potato chips. Oh my, I ate way too many! I'm done, I can't buy those again. My head hurts. Successfully fired up the weed whacker for the first time this season. Lawn, weeds, cut & trim completed before the week begins. Took a big nap this afternoon. Slept so sound that when I awoke it felt like gravity was five times stronger. Oof.

My new hashtag: #LastNightsDream Started new job. Delivery driver. Panel truck. Guy training me saw my nervousness. Took me & entire office staff to breakfast in the panel truck. During breakfast, I finally work up courage to say, I'll drive from here on out. Guy said, "You can't because I know what this truck can/can't do (i.e. fussy clutch, temperamental gear shift) so we'll go back & have it adjusted." Waited forever. Mary Wickes is on Tattletales tonight. I am ecstatic! Mary Wickes, sharp wit, quick on-her-feet actress, always delivering 100% in every role. One of my all-time favorites. ...And I'm now just learning that she's a snorter-laugher (I love her!). The family of crows showed up this evening for a snack. I provided the best I could find: potato chips. Walked through the perennial greenhouse this evening. Trying to narrow down what I want to buy. #3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings

I'm on deer patrol again tonight. Night vision camera setting: ✅️ Almost immediately, I spied one nearing the back property line. "Shoo! shoo! shoo!" Yeah right. I need to toss a M-80 into the air to send them running. I can't do this every night. Fingers crossed the Irish Spring puts up a helluva fight this year. #InvasiveDeer #landscaping #gardening

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings So many great actors, writers, & directors on Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955-1962). I bet I've seen Norman Lloyd both as an actor and director 10 times. Others: Gladys Cooper, Claude Rains, Keenan Wynn, George Macready, etc.! Furniture, decor, & fashion. Style. As seen on Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Yes, I watched a bunch of these tonight. Apple pie. Only one piece, thankfully.
