A typographic experiment, called "Fanning a Ream of Paper." I'm thinking of shortening the name to Farop and turning each shadow layer as individual fonts. https://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/2681272/fanning-a-ream-of-paper

Someone commented on my article that Monotype slapped their company licensing violations for using Google fonts that look like their typefaces. One of them is Garamond (I suppose it's in relation to EB Garamond). That is absurd. https://medium.com/p/caaf3b356d8c

I'm fascinated by the Greek yoghurt and cottage cheese obsession in the US. I'll go broke if I buy this much protein-laden dairy product in my locality.

https://youtu.be/uWSB7s_DQHw?is=sW6YnrKUzifbUl8O Film directors are being regressed to an AI production crew with significant budget cuts. At this point technology is simply serving the rich while those under burries in slop whether they like it or not.

Have you guys ever preferred an older version of a font than an updated one? I find the light weight of Ortica has more character in the older release than the newer one, especially on the tail of 'y'. It's a little tragic that the spur got removed.

RE: https://typo.social/@faux_icing/116169195371364140 A follow-up on Fontworks + Monotype's LETS License: "The revised pricing puts the yearly base subscription at 49,500 yen, with a game and app integration add-on now costing 33,000 yen. That integration fee used to be 11,000 yen, meaning it has *tripled* in price. The base subscription cost stays the same as before." So from ~$380 USD/year to ~$518 USD/year (basing off current conversion rates.) It's not...

I am (very) slowly adding my font back catalog into my website. Alt Sans is one of them, a type family that modifies Poppins Bold into four display styles. Burst is my favourite. All fonts are under the Open Font License (OFL). Free for download at https://www.fauxicing.com/fonts#h.y7us8rvf4g3m (P.S.: All download links provided in my website should now be direct links; no Google account needed!)

I found out that rather than waiting for a glue gun to heat up, I can just use a lighter to heat the end of a glue stick and dab the melted end to where I want things to adhere. It's faster and I don't have to deal with extra glue dribbling from the tip of the glue gun thereafter. *P.S.: Of course, please don't hold the lighter to the glue that long that it starts dripping from the stick itself, and don't use a short glue stick so that your fingers don't...

I'm very impressed at OTT Foundry's type samples of their new font, Buzz. They nailed the tabloid pastiche and did so much to prove its workhorse worthiness, all with a *single* weight/cut. https://ott-foundry.com/typefaces/buzz

Almost five years ago on @fontstruct, I created the hashtag #nfnw (Never Finished, Never Will) as a way to share a small collection of typefaces I knew I wouldn’t complete. Instead of letting them sit unfinished, I released them so others could draw inspiration from them and freely reuse the ideas in their own work. I never imagined that #nfnw would grow into something others would embrace, sharing their own half-finished font projects with the community. It genuinely brings me joy to see such...
