I found out that rather than waiting for a glue gun to heat up, I can just use a lighter to heat the end of a glue stick and dab the melted end to where I want things to adhere. It's faster and I don't have to deal with extra glue dribbling from the tip of the glue gun thereafter. *P.S.: Of course, please don't hold the lighter to the glue that long that it starts dripping from the stick itself, and don't use a short glue stick so that your fingers don't get exposed to an open flame.
