<p>Retired guy from Sheffield UK. Lefty, veggie, world -weary. I grow veg, fruit and flowers. Brew beer and make cider. I love: family, cats, pubs, people, music (old school blues, rock, jazz); collecting books and junk; wildlife, trees, foraging, composting, recycling, reusing, word puzzles , jokes, puns, keeping an open mind. That's obviously not my best photo but it illustrates impeccable elbow crooking technique!<br /><a href="https://toot.wales/tags/brewing" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>brewing</span></a> <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/beer" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>beer</span></a> <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/cats" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>cats</span></a> <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/blues" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<

Street art at Sheffield canal basin by Affix (Phil Padfield), a Sheffield-based, self-taught street artist specializing in large-scale spray paint murals. More info in alt text. Why a horse at this location? Well, Sheffield and Tinsley canal was opened in 1819 and at that time the barges were towed along by horses. This is why canal-side paths are called towpaths. #sheffield #canals #art #streetart #streetartist #UrbanPhotography #urbanlandscape

The end elevation of a large and interesting building on Wharf Street near Sheffield canal basin. It is called Sheaf Works and was built in 1823. It was originally William Graves cutlery works. This is the end of the building where raw materials would have been unloaded and finished goods put onto canal barges for distribution. The building has been used as offices and part of it was briefly the Sheaf Quay pub. Photographed yesterday, April 9th. #FensterFreitag #canals #sheffield #architecture
