Looks like LG monitors started pushing adware software to Windows. Even some older monitors. So if you have one you might want to search if they installed it on your computer. https://gizmodo.com/lg-monitors-fill-pcs-with-adware-and-its-not-just-recent-displays-2000787737

This recent PlayStation and now Xbox system outage, that was blocking digital games (and even disc ones) from being played just proves that we're not ready for a digital only games world in the console space, there's just too much DRM around it.

The era of custom/lightweight game engines is starting again either we like it or not. The average system spec will go down in the next few years. But 4GB VRAM is still plenty for most stuff, PS4 has a total of 8GB (main and video) for everything so this is not a doom scenario.

OpenAI models are already escaping their sandboxes during benchmarks and finding exploits in other infrastructure and just doing whatever. Majority of the world’s infrastructures are not ready for this level of damage at large scale if an AI decides the wrong thing. Imagine hospitals and banks.

terrible news showing up, seems several more studios are in danger and trying to negotiate their independence instead of being shutdown, like Compulsion Games and Double Fine, I hope they make it. https://www.ign.com/articles/ninja-theory-and-double-fine-also-reportedly-under-threat-of-closure-as-xbox-studios-fight-for-survival

Of course programming is art, ask any programmer the range of emotions they felt looking at someone else’s code that one time.

damn, glad I'm not using WP anymore. but this is something that had occurred to me regarding games, there are always companies trying to buy live mobile games from devs, and I wonder if that can also be used as a sort of attack vector, pushing new updates with crap in it. https://anchor.host/someone-bought-30-wordpress-plugins-and-planted-a-backdoor-in-all-of-them/

wow, the PC port of Toy Story was done by one programmer who was not given the source code and only the SNES graphics. He had to play the game over and over to replicate it by observation. https://bsky.app/profile/mayoraponte.bsky.social/post/3ltnt2ksl7s2f #gamedev
