this morning I regretted that I had started to use my TCR dotwatching insta account also for following the "pro israel" conglomerate of gay rightwingers, ex-leftists, neoliberal "defend our democracy" types etc. they don't let us define as queers what antiqueer violence is. They want to tell us what it is. They are appropriating the discourse, waving their rightwing party flags at our mourning ceremonies and tell us in the most ableist terms that we have a mental illnes...

I’m not far into the book but she suggests asking people “are you unsafe” instead of “are you being abused”. I think that’s not too helpful, bc there’s emotional abuse, psychological abuse, financial abuse. All of them will probably exploit someone and wear them down but not make them feel physically unsafe. Anyone read this book? What’s your take on this?

#cyclingtour Vienna surprised me with nice bike infrastructure. It looks like literally every European city I went to is better at it than Berlin. Not that I know many. I was also surprised how much road biking with sporty bikes is a thing in Austria. Everyone is showing off their steely calf muscles. They’re using their loud rear wheel hubs instead of a bell to let you know they’re going to pass you. 😂 I am a bit annoyed that the hubs are so loud these days.

#cyclingtour ended. Arriving in Berlin was Rough. It’s like people here don’t respect traffic rules and the cycling infra sucks. People aren’t cycling as much das in Vienna. Car drivers clog the crossroads every time the light turns red. And then the next ones can’t go. Random people on drugs are yelling at passers by. And past me hadn’t cleaned the flat enough before leaving 🥴

a friend gave me a package of "Kaba Banane" and it consists of sugar and banana aroma. So I made a chocolate cake, added much less cocoa powder, and instead of the sugar I used the Kaba. And I added a sliced banana. It turned out looking really good. Now I need to see how it tastes! :D

#cyclingtour it was cold at night, and so many stars! But I slept really well and we had a nice breakfast at the lake. This spot is amazing and so quiet and hidden. Today is cloudy but not cold.

#cyclingtour is almost over. I’m on the train back home. Today it became a bit rainy in the afternoon, and we ate good ice cream in the town of Neuruppin.

I was at a little plenum that I went to through the bakery and oh, it is good to hang out with anarchists sometimes. not even bc of anything specific, just to meet the tribe where you don't have to explain some things.

i wished that german speaking people would learn just 1 neopronoun (speak and declinate) fluently. bc sometimes I think misgendering by accident happens solely for the reason that they're not fluent with any nonbinary pronoun. And I assume nonbinary people would prefer to be referred to by a neutral pronoun that isn't their fave, to being reffered to by their assigned gender pronoun or the other traditional binary pronoun. weigh in if my assumption is wrong please :balloon_...

hm I've been washing my butt after pooping since forever, using a plastic bottle with water that I pour down my crack, and only learned today that people use toilet douches and portable ass douches in order to be able to rinse stuff off without touching their butthole. Water pressure is doing the job that your left hand would do. 💡 :thaenkin:

Oh I just saw that in the current mastodon version you can quote toots. I always thought that this was left out intentionally. I personally never liked quote toots, because I've seen it used far to much for arrogance, and to shame people. And if people don't reply to each other and constantly quote each other instead, it makes a conversation that is impossible to read. And I hate the german words for quote toots "Drüko" which means "comment on top&...

I just saw a youtube video informing me that in the US, people buy Weck jars for 30-40$. I think Weck jars are a german thing, and accordingly, Mason jars are more expensive and more "fancy" here (or were, at one point). I once bought a bread that was baked in a Weck jar (wasn't so expensive) because you got the jar with it and I thought it was pretty, but tbh Weck jars are not practical. These little clamps, the rubber seal, ugh... so fussy. but with this toot, I...

First spring day outside of the city yesterday! The public transport ticket that includes zone C is now 5€ and 3,30€ for the bike, one way. Going to the countryside is now only possible for wealthy people. 😬

here's my opinion, the same as last year: let women have womens day. It doesn't have to be "all genders oppressed by cis men" day or "feminism day for everybody". happy belated womens day from me to you, ladies! :fist_hmn_g1:
