I just saw a youtube video informing me that in the US, people buy Weck jars for 30-40$.
I think Weck jars are a german thing, and accordingly, Mason jars are more expensive and more "fancy" here (or were, at one point).
I once bought a bread that was baked in a Weck jar (wasn't so expensive) because you got the jar with it and I thought it was pretty, but tbh Weck jars are not practical. These little clamps, the rubber seal, ugh... so fussy.
but with this toot, I mainly wanted to express my shock that in the US, they mark up these jars like there is no tomorrow! Or is this also a result of Trump politics?

hm... I checked the german Weck shop and obviously, they ask outrageous prices around here as well now. 24€ for a 750ml jar???
