  I really like glasses that have very thin frames, possibly even with no frames at the bottoms of the lenses, and that are made of very light materials. And I think we should really push that fashion, encouraging the kind of glasses that have no room for cameras and microphones in them.

  I've been recently thinking about all this advice about good design, such as https://tenprinciples.design and so on. While I mostly agree that they are generally good advice, design is a language, and you can use it to communicate a wide variety of things. Try substituting "good design" with "good book" in those ten principles. Or "good song lyrics". They still kind of hold, but would you like all books or all songs to follow them? So...

  I like to think about sense as a semi-physical property, similar to negentropy. It can only be produced artificially by humans, and always requires conscious effort, and possibly also skill and experience. Without human attention, an automated system will at best retain sense, and more likely, lose it gradually. Every human intervention in the system is an opportunity, but not a guarantee, to increase it. When you remove an opportunity for human intervention from a process, you risk nonsense.

  I think there is another reason why the tech bros are willing to pay all this money to require an id scan to access the Internet: they want to be able to filter the bots and the automatically generated content. With more traffic coming from automation than real people, the ad clicks are losing value, and the ai models get poisoned. They pissed into the well so much that they desperately need a piss filter now.
