  Operation: Salmon Ladder has entered its second phase Garth is about 10 1/2 which is pretty old for a Newfoundland and his back legs are getting shaky. He likes to sleep back in the bedroom with us, but has been having trouble with the stairs So - first I tried taping a yoga mat down on the stairs to give him better traction. This kinda worked but not consistently Now I've made a crudimentary ramp with some cut-up pool noodles for traction. We'll see how this goes

  In-town garden is winding down. Got -un- habanero out of it yesterday Ranch garden is slowing down as well. Tomatoes are getting a little shakier, cucumbers are still coming along but not as many. Think we'll have a shitload of jalapeños here pretty soon Task for today is to deal with the existing population of tomatoes and cucumbers. So - we'll be making tomato sauce and pickles #gardening

  Started my seedling/grow operation in-town to run in parallel with the one I've got out at the ranch. Probably a bit later than I should have, but I plan to overcome this by just planting way more seedlings Now I've got to build my raised beds and figure out how to get them filled up without infinite trips with a wheelbarrow #gardening

  The wife and I don't have kids. BUT we did keep track of some twins that went through Trinity University (our alma mater) a couple years back Checked in on them every couple of weeks to feed them dinner, take them to get groceries, and see what they were up to in order to make sure they weren't doing anything crazy ("Parenting" is, apparently, easy. Not sure what everyone else is whining about...) Now our "nephew" is back in town this weeken...
