Github can drop you for whatever reason at any time, folks. It isn&#39;t a publicly-owned service. If you want different moderation go to Gitlab or back to Github or run your own Forgejo! You have options.

    I didn&#39;t realize it until just now but there&#39;s a particular *aesthetic* to vibe coded websites that I keep running across and that&#39;s.... weird. Kinda very similar to how every blog started converging on the same design to game Google search rankings.

    Hottake Google&amp;#39;s latest push with Recaptcha to require you to scan a QR code with a smartphone is just another push towards &amp;quot;you need a modern smart phone that is run by the duopoly to participate in society&amp;quot;. Passkeys evoke a similar concern / anxiety, but they&amp;#39;re not the same - there are several escape hatches.... but if you own no computing devices at all and rely on borrowing one from the library, for example, you&amp;#39;re going to have a hard(er) time.

And....that is true, but like, the authorization code flow is just...better... in basically every way. I think they mean this in a &amp;quot;if you have an old app that&amp;#39;s still using it, that&amp;#39;s okay&amp;quot; but it doesn&amp;#39;t read that way and it feels weird.

    I saw something on here that&amp;#39;s been bothering me - and it&amp;#39;s that an underserved group is getting medical advice from LLMs because doctors just give up when they can&amp;#39;t figure it out. So first, I&amp;#39;m sorry medicine is failing you. Second, LLMs are purpose-built to tell you what you want to hear and make up shit. Doctors at least swore an oath to not do harm (and are subject to malpractice laws). OpenAI is not. Please do not take ChatGPT&amp;#39;s medical advice. The...

    Picking back up a short story I&#39;d started but didn&#39;t finish involving Radium + Vampires and thinking about how we *knew* radium was dangerous pretty quickly but those involved in the sale of the stuff were pretty keen on keeping the money flowing as long as possible. Now apply that to Generative AI and how OpenAI&#39;s arguing that it&#39;s not their fault their product drives people to self-harm because it&#39;s against the ToS.
