I saw a couple of takes Re: codeberg that weren't quite "oh I don't like LLM code but codeberg shouldn't decide that they're unacceptable, they're neutral hosting!" No, they absolutely can and should do that. Github can drop you for whatever reason at any time, folks. It isn't a publicly-owned service. If you want different moderation go to Gitlab or back to Github or run your own Forgejo! You have options.

    @cthos@mastodon.cthos.dev The idea that the Big Players need to serve you is a maladaptive adaptatio to survive monopolization. They don't need to serve you and they shouldn't be your only option. Break free of both, and enter a world that is bigger and better!

    @cthos@mastodon.cthos.dev I agree that Codeberg does not owe us anything and they are free to do as they please. Still, I think this is largely an alienating move that further supports "software silos". But that's ultimately a question of goals.
