  Some folks pointed out language in the SB51 OSS exemption could not include the GPL due to redistribution conditions. Improved the language for clarity.   Ubuntu 26.04 LTS is getting closer to shipping pre-loaded on @system76 hardware. DDOS attacks on Ubuntu infra slowed things down. We built new infrastructure to remove our Launchpad dependency and speed up releases moving forward.

There's now a toggle to enable/disable workspace wrapping, file names are selected up to the extension when renaming, fixed an issue with XWayland window resizing on move and more improvements.   Update on the Colorado Age Attestation bill: Everyone that participated in the meeting last week submitted proposed changes to the bill. They included good ideas to improve consumer protection and privacy and exempt open source software. Sen. Ball responded this morning that they'll now draft potential amendments. I think we're making good progress. I'm off for a ski weekend with the kids. Have a great weekend everyone!

  Perhaps the most perverse consequence of age verification laws: many require advertising the age bracket of the user to the open web. Children will be known to be children even to those that would exploit that information without regard for any other "safety" law.

  Today, I met with Colorado Senator Matt Ball, co-author of Colorado OS Age Attestation Bill SB26-051. Sen. Ball suggested excluding open source software from the bill. This appears to be a real possibility. Amendments are expected for the CA age attestation bill. It's my hope we can move fast enough to influence excluding open source in the CA bill amendments. No illusions, it's an uphill battle, but we have an open door to advocate for the open source community.
