  Two reasons why I did not pre-order the #Commodore #Callback phone: 1) My kid's first semester tuition is due in two weeks: ~$4500!!! 2) They do not have a web browser, and there is no evidence I could install one. Apps do not let me block the ads, spyware, data collection, etc. A browser with uBO or Tor Browser has not been stated to be available. I will not be forced to use apps over a browser.

  Found a power supply for an older HP laptop I thought I'd gotten rid of. It's currently running Deb8 and am looking to put a modern OS on it. I'm really hesitant to continue on with Deb13 due to the HW being older and Deb going the way of other Linuxes wrt systemd. I tried Antix on my netbook and it didn't turn out great but I think I'll give it another go with this HP. The biggest concern is the Broadcom wireless. Guess we'll find out.

  #FediHelp: I had #ProtonMail installed via APK (sideloaded) but removed it because of some setting I can't remember which basically had them collecting information. I think you could opt-out, but I found it offensive they even had it in there. (I think it was the "anonymous telemetry" on by default) Anyone have input on #Tutanota? It's client is in F-droid while Proton's is not. So I'm hoping Tuta may be a slightly better option for me. Basically my primary email...

  #Emacs #OrgMode users: I use :exclude to skip files, BUT is there a way to skip entire directories? The Regex I put in :exclude does not omit directories (prevent recursion). I've also tried making the directories hidden (on Unix by starting the name with a '.') - still doesn't work. Is there way to prevent org-publish from recursing into specific directories, but go ahead in general? I would like to be able to "prune the tree". TIA.

  Quick question: Anyone know if Bash has a variable to hold the command line args before they were expanded? If I type myscript *, $@ holds the expanded list. Is there a variable that holds the '*'? #Linux #Bash

  Updated my auto-delete policy to keep those which are liked or boosted. I had it set to keep those I bookmark, but I want to try and keep threads of topics. We'll see how this goes. Maybe I should just periodically go through and delete posts I don't want. (i.e.the "vents"). 🤔
