#totp loving this tonight. thinking back the radio was on all the time somewhere back then. it had to be good music. it was a time just before personal iPod personal music curation started.

Angine de Poitrine continue to delight and amaze me some 6 months after first hearing about them. Their music, and just them, make me feel instantly happy. I know there are thousands of reaction videos to them with skilled musicians watching them play at the KEXP concert for the first time and one of the most common, and best, comments they frequently make is "I didn't know I needed to hear this, but I did and it is amazing". It is scratching an itch they didn't know they ha...

#totp I remember everyone who watched this in my house was helpless at what his singing was like. it was like a weird episode of Dr Who or something.

#totp my memory of The Wurzels was that they danced with their bottoms sticking out. I thought the bottom being waved about was the purpose of the dance.

From synthpop to drum’n’bass, the company had a roster of edgy stars – and let them do what they wanted. As a new podcast is launched, artists and staff remember the extreme work environment. A good read, and it introduced me to "Kill Your Friends" which sounds great https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2474958/ https://www.theguardian.com/music/2026/may/20/goldie-bananarama-90s-london-records-podcast?CMP=share_btn_url

I am listening to Air by #PeteNamlook today. I have others - Spacefish, Silence and some more. I started buying the Fax label 12"s in the early 90s and quickly realised it was going to be impossible to keep up with the releases. I have about half a dozen, they are not that amazing tbh. The quality control was not good. Mind you, making them back then was arguably more work than it would be now and it was original. I am sure the label was not called "Fax" it was ju...

I've been learning to make my own scents (perfumes) solely for me, I don't intend to go commercial. I have a couple of patchoulis, some ambergris analogues, smokey ingredients like tonalide, also cashmeran and boiseambrine. I am having a lot of fun making working dilutions and testing them on my wrist whilst I sit at my desk and I make notes on the profile and behaviour of the accords. I notice my favourite blend so far is essentially a "coal tar soap" smell. W...

who handles the investigation into Farage’s alleged receipt of £5m and any attempt to conceal it? Electoral Commission → mandatory first stage, and if they find wrong doing it goes to Police → if there’s evidence of false declarations, they will pass it to NCA → to see if the money trail involves crypto liquidation, offshore routing, or concealment and if the “gift” wasn’t declared as income it goes to HMRC if the investigation progresses in this way it could become criminal.

I have been learning how to make my own perfume/scents recently (making dilutions from 100% ingredients) and I was loving the blend I had on my wrists and was sniffing it and thinking “mmmm lovely” then I realised it was essentially ‘coal tar soap’ which is fine by me but also FML.
