  #threeGoodThings 1) Attended a conference and delivered my roundtable yesterday, and had fun overall. 2) managed to finally close the loop on a new database I have been working on acquiring for our campus (for over a month) from home yesterday morning. 3) Feeling more optimistic about the upcoming semester after reconnecting with some of my classmates at the conference #PhDLife A photo from the conference yesterday is below.

  #threeGoodThings 1) I finally got my new Samsung washer dryer combo installed after purchasing it in June. A water valve was frozen, so I had to get a plumber first, then reschedule installation. The whole process took me a month. Lol! 2) I’ve recovered from COVID, tested negative twice last week, been working out again, went to work at the library yesterday. I’m still masking around folks out of consideration. 3) Took a 1/2 day to see The Odyssey in IMAX with friends today.

  #threeGoodThings #silentSunday 1) my covid test was negative yesterday, so I’ll test again tomorrow and hope for another negative. I got lucky, and had a mild case and have had worse colds and sinus infections in the past, so I’m really grateful. 2) returned the podium for my new all in one washer dryer being installed on Wednesday, saving $300. 3) walked 20 minutes @ a nice park this morning.

  #threeGoodThings 1) I decided to take a covid test and it was positive. It’s good I took it, because I really felt I had a mild cold, and wasn’t gonna take one. I’m glad to know so I can be careful. Luckily, I was good about masking and staying away from folks once I started feeling sick. 2) been cleaning my place due to more wfh this week, which feels positive. 3) a volunteer effort I’m spearheading for an upcoming conference seems to be moving along well.

  #threeGoodThings July 6, 2026 1) Had a great interaction with a community member while helping him print a 100+ page document. We talked about Native Hawaiian health issues since we are both Native Hawaiian and he is on a board that assists with health care and coverage. I have to look into it more. 2) Had a follow-up dr appt for an out of range kidney test and results are normal. Yay! 3) Started my morning with a walk (photo below).

  #threeGoodThings 1) took the day off to work on my final Indigenous Research Proposal discussion paper. 2) Submitted my paper with 4+ hours to spare, and was able to pace myself with breaks. 3) Despite the stress I’m glad to have completed this course, to have visited with family this past weekend, and to have some breathing room before diving into new projects and obligations. 😊 A photo from the reunion below, many of us wearing black t-shirts with a special design of Mt.   #threeGoodThings 1) Enjoyed our family reunion on the North Shore this weekend. Over 70 people attended the final dinner Sunday night. 2) Went hiking with niece and a short one with my sister. 3) Even though I have a paper due and had no time to work on it this weekend, I have no regrets. It’s due Thursday, and I hope to manage it with work and everything.

  #threeGoodThings It is Friday night! Made it through the workday, and went to dinner with a friend. I have homework due on Monday, but it should be ok. I signed up for a FREE conversational ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi class, meeting 2x a week, for 4 weeks, 3 hours/wk. I start Tuesday! Very stoked. #ʻōlelo Made plans to meet an ex coworker for lunch on Monday. We will talk about work, so it’s a working lunch, but still cool we are reconnecting.

  This morning, my car battery was dead. 1) I called AAA, and they replaced it. Awesome! But then I noticed the brake light was stuck on--probably how my battery drained in the first place. I used the internet and Honda service to confirm, the pad on the brake light switch had worn out. I drove to O'Reilly and bought a replacement. The lady said to YouTube it, and 2) after a couple vids I fixed it myself. Phew! I felt happy overall. And finally... 3) It's Friday! #threeGoodThings

  Yesterday, I went to a Yakudoshi for a coworker and had a surprisingly good time chatting with people I’d just met there. Then, I went to my niece’s place and gave her some cake and mochi (from the Yakudoshi) and $50 for her 17th bday. Then, I had dinner with a friend.
