Over the last three years I've steadily been building a CD collection from charity shops and car boots instead of streaming. My little CD player is connected up to stereo speakers and I put on an album and don't skip around. I just play it. 99% has been great, a few albums weren't but so far the experience has been great.

From Pibow to Picade and everything in between! Pimoroni are 14! So the team put their heads together and thought that we should discount over 1400 products. So they tasked me with picking a few that I personally own and writing about them. Buy the micro nippers, mine are still good six years later! https://blog.pimoroni.com/its-our-birthday-save-up-to-40/

Trying out intermittent fasting. Nothing major. 10 hour "eating window" (10am to 8pm) and 14 hours with no food. Also reduced sugar intake, which was low anyway. Been about a week now, feel hungry in the morning, but no ill effects and feel generally better for it. I shall monitor and adjust as needed. :)

Spent the day weeding and cleaning up rear garden. Brambles had started to take hold. Now it is clear and my back hurts. The upside is that three robins dropped in to visit / supervise my progress.

Today the postie delivered me the Hackers movie soundtrack. This makes me very happy! The Thinkpad? That is my new X13 Gen 2. 11th Gen i5 CPU, 16GB DDR4 and I dropped a 1TB NVMe SSD in because I had one.

Been busy at Pimoroni and here is a sneak peek at an upcoming tutorial. Using Tufty 2350 to control RGB LEDs connected to Plasma 2350 W via the magic of MQTT. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/-ijFhtYLc4s?feature=share

I've printed sooo many "badgies" (Star Trek commbadges) to test my 3D printer manual bed levelling adventures. I'll have to find a home for them all. Any cosplayers / Star Trek fans need a few badges? Let me know.

New laptop. A Lenovo X13 Gen 2 with an 11th gen Intel i5 1145G7, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Screen is 1920x1200 which is lovely! Runs great with Linux.

I've also assembled a shallow drawer under my desk. A drawer for those little bits that you like to have handy. Drawer sliders are my design, and I made them to fit Hobbycraft's £2.50 trolley trays.

A couple of months ago, Linus Media Group got in contact, asking me to review its range of screwdrivers. After many weeks of testing (fixing two PCs, 3D printer and some shelves), my review of the #LTT screwdrivers is now live! https://bigl.es/ltt-screwdrivers-review/

My first piece of work for Pimoroni talks about the new Badgeware range. Badger, Tufty, and Blinky may sound like cartoon characters, but they are the new RP2350 powered boards. Badger is e-paper, Tufty is an IPS LCD, and Blinky is 872 bright white LEDs. https://blog.pimoroni.com/tiny-screens-big-ideas-show-us-your-badgeware-projects/

RE: https://mastodon.social/@thepihut/116239403504639949 And just in case you need a review to help your purchase decision. https://www.tomshardware.com/raspberry-pi/the-dream-of-a-raspberry-pi-laptop-becomes-a-reality-argonone-up-review I still use mine, the CM5 is a powerful platform. But the cost of a CM5 really ramps up the initial outlay. That said, you *should* be able to upgrade to a CM6 if it uses the same connector pinout.

Powering a Raspberry Pi 1 web server using the USB port on my DIY NAS build. Yeah, I'm scared too :) Hope to reveal more over the next week.

My portable vacuum cleaner has died... Again. Breaking out some new tools to have a tinker. LTT / LMG has sent me pretty much all of its screwdrivers for review on bigl.es They've got no input on the review and I turned down any form of payment. Looking forward to fixing stuff and reporting to you.

I've been meaning to read this. So tonight seems like a good time to start Project Hail Mary.
