Really loved this video from @caelanconrad on the NY Times' deceptive coverage of the Jamie Reed allegations against a Missouri gender clinic. Caelan's video compares the Times' reporting - sorry, "reporting" - to Assigned Media's extensive fact-check by @e_urq. They also discuss the Times' reporting on the trans panic in general and how, according to @translashmedia, they have displayed an observable bias against trans people in their co...

I'm camping out in my basement for the weekend because I tested positive for #covid today. 😭 Fortunately I have a pretty mild case, and I was able to get a script for Paxlovid because of my medical history. I hope that will reduce the odds of me getting long covid, although I've been warned it increases the odds of rebounding so I still have to take it really easy once I've recovered. As a ballet teacher, this is very difficult for me.

FINALLY had a full day off that wasn't a sick day. I spent most of it working on my kitchen cabinets (I'm in the process of repainting them), mostly sanding the cabinet doors but I did prime and paint one box (I'm going one cabinet at a time because I can't take my whole kitchen apart). Except now I think I'm going to go back and sand down the paint a little and do one more coat to see if I can get a smoother finish.

I've been in the process of repainting my kitchen cabinets for like a month and I'm finally starting to feel like I'm making progress (I can only work on my days off and I went like 3 weeks without having one last month). I love DIY projects because I feel so much more satisfied when I can see the product of my own work. Plus it saves a crap ton of money that we frankly do not have.

I can't find a good catalog costume for one of the roles in our next ballet, so I'm considering a few options: - purchase an over-budget costume that can be customized in the right colors - purchase a below-budget, undecorated costume that will need embellishing - purchasing the tutu skirts only and making 6 or 8 bodices myself. I'm kind of tempted toward option 3, but then I would want to keep the costumes for next time, and if I did that I wouldn't feel right a...

@pootriarch E-readers are pretty great both for ease on the eyes and the convenience of being able to look up or translate words instantly.
