  I just spent a lot of time trouble-shooting why macos insisted I could only write 25GB to the new external blu ray writer. For some reason it wasn't recognising the disc as dual-layer / 50GB. I finally realised that what I have is a 50-pack of 25GB discs 🤦‍♀️

Now I couldn't even get my six-monthly covid shot because I don't have a neat specific immunocompromise condition (my GPs have still not managed to pinpoint what it is that fucks my system whenever I catch something).   Neat! My first 2.5Gbit link is now active! Now getting 927Mbps down, on a 1000Mbps plan. I am pleased. I was a bit concerned this tiny little NanoPi R5C wasn't going to be capable of actually handling these speeds, but it's kicking along just fine. Yay, tech that makes me happy for a change!

  I just finished reading Raymond E Feist's A Darkness Returns. I've been following the series since I first picked up Magician 26 years ago. I loved Magician, and the Empire trilogy was sooo good.
