I just spent a lot of time trouble-shooting why macos insisted I could only write 25GB to the new external blu ray writer. For some reason it wasn't recognising the disc as dual-layer / 50GB. I finally realised that what I have is a 50-pack of 25GB discs 🤦‍♀️

After a ridiculous amount of tech woes with ArtStation not letting me check out my cart without creating an account, and then 500-server-erroring during account creation (for well over a month), with roundabout ways I finally have this print on my wall. This makes me happy 🥰 When @keremgoart@mstdn.social first posted this artwork here I fell for it head first and wanted it on my wall. Something about it, for me, speaks to the hope that even in a high tech dystopian future, there can still be be...

This test is 100% crazy, but I'd still place it in the fun zone 🙃

Fucking hell! Now I couldn't even get my six-monthly covid shot because I don't have a neat specific immunocompromise condition (my GPs have still not managed to pinpoint what it is that fucks my system whenever I catch something). On top of that he started insisting on getting the name of my doctor and the pharmacy that has been giving me the regular boosters, so now I'm worried I'm getting them in trouble too since he'll "be putting a note in the system". This is...

The last however long has been a lot. Like a lot a lot. Is it really too much to ask for a bit of a breather? 😩

If I'd told teenage me that I'd be downloading 2TB of games in less than 24h, I would not have believed that. Yet here we are. GOG games backup in progress. Now if only I could afford to replace the disk space this will use up...

15 years after I left WoW, I have now been recognised as a High Crafter on Curseforge for 1+ million downloads of my WoW addons 🙃

I love sleeping with friends. The shared intimacy, the vulnerability, the trust. It feels like such a social bonding. I don't love how "sleeping with" has been appropriated to always mean "having sex with", rather than its literal meaning.

Apparently I don't have much in the way of Cat-6 and Cat-6A cables. This is now in the process of being rectified, seeing as my otherwise trusty Cat-5E was having flapping issues on the 2.5GBps link

Neat! My first 2.5Gbit link is now active! Now getting 927Mbps down, on a 1000Mbps plan. I am pleased. I was a bit concerned this tiny little NanoPi R5C wasn't going to be capable of actually handling these speeds, but it's kicking along just fine. Yay, tech that makes me happy for a change!

I just finished reading Raymond E Feist's A Darkness Returns. I've been following the series since I first picked up Magician 26 years ago. I loved Magician, and the Empire trilogy was sooo good. There's been some ups and downs along the way, but I recall enjoying them as a whole. And Magician's End was... gutsy, to say the least. Looking back, I should've stopped reading after that. It was a good finale. I've been powering through a chunk of my to-be-read shelf the last...

People insisting on opt-out rather than opt-in come across to me as not having learned the basic lesson of "don't make free with other people's stuff unless they've said it's okay", which I thought we all learnt forcefully in kinder or thereabouts, but evidently not 🤷‍♀️

Watching a slow-tv live stream, with the sun rising over a mirror smooth river in Sweden's north, with the early birds gently twittering. I think I feel home sick for a place that hasn't been home in over half my life.

Last night the bonfires would've been lit back in my old home country, for the Valborg celebrations. Or "Valborgsmässoafton" to use its full contemporary name - Valborg's mass eve. Aside from missing it, being on the southern hemisphere and all, it always gets me riled up over Christinanity's usurpation of the holiday. The official story is that it's came from Germany's Walpurgisnacht in the 1400s, the honouring of saint Walpurgis. Never...

Ugh, I felt all inspired this morning, but now that I've done my cardio, my morning routine, and had breakfast I just feel like napping for the rest of the day
