Oh hey. I'm a Swede Abroad™️ in Amsterdam. I work as a self-employed multidisciplinary designer, overall conceptual image-maker, and some form of creative director because I like ideas. I call myself a printmaker. I play RPGs on tables and screens and am fascinated by world building. Budding GM. I have a husband and a Shiba Inu, and my pronouns are he/him 🏳️🌈

Ran a session for our Amsterdam DnD League last night and I think I managed to run a truly tough battle for the first time (by my standards). I have ideas for how to make the next one more FUN but seeing as I wanted to get better at raising the stakes, I consider it a step in the right direction. The players hung out with goats and demons and pirates around a vineyard-turned-cursed-forest. It was a pretty chill session. #DnD

The fact that Nick Offerman is in the Elden Ring movie is going to heal all of us, I think.

Maybe I'll have finished the game by then (procrasti-playing other things because I don’t find Crumbling Farum Azula fun)

Birch pollen, also known as “one of the worst ones for Anders” in some circles. Consider me dead to the world today!

Fireside Fables, in which I interview other DMs from our Amsterdam League about the art of running D&D and other ttrpgs. The setup is very DIY, bear with us! I'd argue that THE way to make people think you know about design is to use optical margin alignment (hanging punctuation, that thing when letters like V and punctuation hang a little bit outside the margin to make it look more straight). A second way is to avoid justified text, because it’s frankly too much work to get rid of rivers (the snakes of spaces creating tendrils down a paragraph and making the brain think “SHAPES!!” instead of reading the words). #graphicdesign

@SJohnRoss So very true! There’s a reason typesetting used to be its own specialization. Very few graphic designers, myself included, actually have a full grasp on how to make typography sing

Again, the letters Å, Ä, Ö, Æ, Ø are not decorations to slap on your game name’s Os and As, contrary to ubiquitous belief. They have different pronunciations in Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and Danish, and I bet I’m not the only Scandinavian who is turned off by weird-sounding usage of these letters. It’s like if I, a Swede with a soft J in my language, decided to name my game Yust a Couple of Jellow Yackals for Jour Yolly Yaunt. I’ll talk about this again. #games #ttrpg #language

DnD tonight and the PCs have just reached level 3, which means I’m going to have them tell me what it looks/feels/is like to gain their subclass. Warlock, wizard, bard, druid. Especially looking forward to the warlock “unlocking” his patron 👀 And after this, levelling will slow wayyyy down. #dnd #DungeonsAndDragons #ttrpg

Ok but what if whatever that popular definition of success isn’t what I want, though
