I'd argue that THE way to make people think you know about design is to use optical margin alignment (hanging punctuation, that thing when letters like V and punctuation hang a little bit outside the margin to make it look more straight).
A second way is to avoid justified text, because it’s frankly too much work to get rid of rivers (the snakes of spaces creating tendrils down a paragraph and making the brain think “SHAPES!!” instead of reading the words).

@anderstallvik@dice.camp Single-edge alignment (according to script) is also more legible for many people, especially on screen rather than paper.
