@jamie@fedi.jametek.com How do you like the H2C? The nozzle swap + retract concept has never made much sense to me but maybe it’s better in practice.

I’ve been running Fedora (atomic & workstation) on my main pc the last couple years. This was originally to get wayland compatible nvidia drivers that I couldn’t run on my beloved Debian, but I have an AMD GPU now… I’m tiring of the churn of a Fedora install now and thinking of #DistroHopping again. I want a boring (positive) OS again… Debian on my other PC is still stable and reliable. Give me your boring (laudatory) #Linux desktop recommendations. Is NixOS boring (complimentary)?

I did end up getting my replacement #SteamController delivered while I was a way on vacation. I’m a fan for #LinuxGaming. It is perfectly compatible, and feels and performs great. Bummer that my first one was broken out of the gate, but hopefully that’s just teething issues. A little birdie told me that the joystick sourcing was a real pain point in development. https://gts.amd.im/@amd/statuses/01KVTRMAB97SP1VNGXFM5Y4QGF

Had a screening call today about adopting a “career change” dog from the regional guide dog organization. They have a somewhat consistent need to place dogs that are not suited to being full time guide dogs and you can put your name on the list to adopt them when they “change careers” / flunk out. That’s how we got our last pup and she’s been the absolute best.

I managed to find a lime green “New” #3DS LL in a Book Off+ in Osaka for ¥25,000, easily better than I could have bought it for locally. Screens are in good shape and the body has only minimal scratches. The battery was in pretty bad shape but I swapped it and now it’s running great. My kids say they wish I would have bought a second for them and have been playing it a lot… #gamedad #retrogaming

Dang. Was setting up a PicoDS so I could have the same save games on the DSi and 3DS (…for when the kids steal the 3DS…) and the microsd card slot just totally failed and just shoots the card out...

How do blocks work in #activitypub alongside the Move action? If I block someone and they make a new, separate account, that’s pretty normal block evasion and I’ll block again. But if I block someone and they [Move](https://swicg.github.io/activitypub-data-portability/#move-action) to a new account, will they still be blocked? #AskFedi

Big kudos to Digikey for calling out the tariff specifically. I hope every retailer does this; it needs to be absolutely clear what a tax on the consumer this is. #uspol #tariff

I have a habit of coming up with an idea for something I want to make and easily find that thing has already been made but it’s not just what I wanted, then I end up doing it from scratch This steamdeck stand was this week’s boondoggle. I just want a simple stand and didn’t want geometries that are unnecessarily hard to print and waste material. This one is 34 grams and just four simple perimeters. Shout out to Valve for posting the #steamdeck CAD to make this easy. #FreeCADFriday #3dPrintin...

I really feel like I do not have a good handle on designing for laser cutting... My instincts say that booleans and relying on kerf compensation is going to be the most straight forward way to get good fits, but this little shelf my kids asked for has a seriously complex tree. I haven't seen any best practices out there. Anyone have any tips or pointers? Anyone else laser cutting with #FreeCAD? #FreeCADFriday

#FreeCAD 1.1 is another great quality of life update. I've been playing with the betas and @FreeCAD has come so far from the 0.2x days. If you haven't tried it since then, definitely give it a go. https://wiki.freecad.org/Release_notes_1.1 https://yewtu.be/bYdobpjTypg
