  By the sounds of it I've been doing #ai wrong this whole time. I: - never connect my dev projects or environments directly to AI - any code queries I copy/paste and ask specific questions - before copying anything back I clarify anything I don't understand or that looks suspicious or weird - thoroughly test what I've made with AI. I don't want any mysterious black-box code sitting in the project - Treat it like any other tool or program; it's not a person...

  Here's a fun and entirely correct use case for #ai I did today. A client's old site was in Wix. They had a lot of images in multiple carousels that were built with nested divs down to the 7th level of hell. I copied the outer container html in dev tools, told the AI to grab just the image urls (which incidentally were the high res versions in the srcset not used on the front end) and put them into a wget command.   I actually really enjoy developing themes in the #shopify ecosystem, but I'm not into marketing in any way and struggle with things like conversion rates, optimising for sales and all the other stuff that goes with it. It's a job in itself really, and I'm probably being naive but I wonder how useful it all can really be? I guess for multi-million dollar companies yeah, but for most businesses it's overkill.

  We moved into our house around 5 years ago and immediately I had to cobble my home office together so I could get back to work. It's at the far end of the dining room but pretty quiet.   I think the new paint job came up pretty good. Still have the dining to do (you can see on the ceiling where the paint stops) and I think we're going to get a new sliding door, but it's a vast improvement and much nicer to be in.   Oh boy, why did I ever tinker with #AWS. To delete a Cloudfront thing (don't care) I have to cancel the plan (free, fine, whatever) but then wait until the end of the billing cycle when the plan actually runs out to delete the thing. I'm sure devops love using it but damn, it's unnecessarily complicated. And that's just one thing, I have others but they don't give me a list of 'stuff I'm paying for' aside from on the billing page...

  I finally got round to watching the first episode of #startrek Starfleet Academy today. I stopped watching Discovery about halfway through so missed the big time jump and any explanation for what happened, so I felt like I was missing out on a few things, but aside from that it was enjoyable. The storyline is interesting and Paul Giamatti makes a fun baddie. I'd seen a few negative online comments which basically boiled down to people being cranky that young people would be predominant...

  In the ongoing bizarreness that is #aws I closed my account, because why not. They then charge me for WAF, which I don't remember setting up. Or even know what that is. I try to log into my account and get a blank warning box, I assume because I tried to close it. So in the email I click the billing link and hey! I can get it, not so closed then?   After seeing this post: https://fosstodon.org/@stpaultim/116139177428920542 I discovered #backdropcms. I looked at #drupal a while ago when #wordpress (enjoy hashtags?) was looking like it was going downhill but it seemed odd, and I couldn't say why. I hadn't heard of this one before, though it seems like it's been around for a while and has a good community around it. Bonus! I found it in my #yunohost server so going to take it for a spin.
