  This hockey game was “Miracle on Ice” level symbolic for Canada, so we’re gutted. It’s an inefficient distribution of Olympic gold, because 99% of Americans don’t care, whereas 80% of Canadians do.   Watched the 1993 classic The Fugitive for the first time. Seeing this obsessive, wildly over budget, dangerously out of control police investigation in the context of burgeoning AI surveillance in 2026 gave me food for thought. With AI technology, we could all have Tommy Lee Jones on our case for the smallest infraction!

  I vibecoded my first app: a medication/symptom tracking app for my very rare chronic illness. It’s already improved my life. I love vibe coding for this. The number of people who have lived experience of this disease and have the motivation, resources, and coding knowledge to make this app was basically zero. Plus, unlike AI slop, all the functionality and design decisions were made by me. I’m a critic of AI when it sucks, but I’m now a big believer in vibe coding. #vibecoding #chronicillness

  When the centre-left controlled social media, people used to say, “Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences”, meaning private speech could be suppressed.   I just got my kid his first device, an Apple Watch with a standalone cell plan because it’s annoying to use, doesn’t have any social media apps, has no camera, but still has the location tracking feature. Purely for communication. Perfect. But the battery life! Do Apple Watch users really recharge multiple times a day? I had no idea. It’s like a shitty pet.
