A terrific crisp sake - well chilled. So good. Hakutsuru. Picked up at H Mart I'm so glad I have some inkling of what might be good (for the price). (It's not that hard to go wrong with a Nadagogo brewery)

2nd not good first half of football match today 1st one didn't improve much in 2nd half (even if there was a score) - hopefully this one will - but I'm not quite sure.

Fun afternoon doing a workshop - #KitchenChemistry and other #Chemistry demos and activities - this time for teachers. Not all were even #science teachers - one was Art and some were 2nd grade or elementary school teachers. Made hand sanitizer, explored heat and conductivity and microwaves and energy, and associated concepts of wavelengths and color. Then hydrophobicity and emulsions and #chocolate mousse!

Grading done (almost all students) and grades uploaded. Stayed up all night (not for that) so we/family didn't have to wait till Tuesday... (to take some time off) #ProfLife

I took a short nap on our early morning flight, and when I asked kid2 if she had - she said no. But she did manage, she said, to live her dream of showing the flight attendant this saved pic/meme on her phone as they went by offering snacks. (Yes, flight attendant laughed and then asked if kid2 wanted a cookie, and yes kid2 did want and get a cookie) #TravelTales

RIP Raghu Rai - incredible stalwart of #Indian #Photography whose career started in the 60s. You may not recognize the name but I'm pretty sure you've seen more than a few iconic images that were captured by him. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/celebrity/articles/rip-raghu-rai-indias-greatest-173708773.html https://ojasart.com/exhibitions-cpt/picturing-time-the-greatest-photographs-of-raghu-rai/ https://raghuraifoundation.org/

Watching Super 8 tonight with Kid1 Saw it solo 10+ yrs ago and remember enjoying it and wanting to wait a bit till the kids were older so they wouldn't be too spooked. (Iirc this was before they watched Goonies and much before Stranger Things). I don't remember anything really - action and suspense chug right along. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1650062/ #movie #movienight

So kids had an event to go to (a friend in a high school musical) and we ended up driving them all the way there and had 3 hrs to kill before pickup, so partner and I had the evening to ourselves. What did we do? Oh explored a bit - found a place with stuffed and fresh hand slapped after ordering, most excellent cheesy pupusas (including loroco). Then strolled around and loitered and enjoyed looking at wares in an Ecuadorian grocery store. Picked up a few things, saw some new to us stuff.

Morning worked in my hotel, made a trip to meet collaborators briefly, had lunch with them at the cafeteria. One showed me a pic of Jonangu taken yesterday, & on my 18 min train ride back to Sannomiya - looked up Jonangu location (it was in my bookmarks) & saw that it is 90 mins away with a rapid express from Sannomiya. Sped to hotel, dropped computer off, picked up camera and made it to the 2:07. Was at Jonangu at 3:40. Spent an excellent 45mins there! #Kyoto #Japan #Bloomscrolling #Das...
