It was my Dad’s funeral yesterday. I don’t know why, but I felt the need to post the eulogy I gave. Maybe I thought he deserved some kind of public recognition – he was a lovely person and a great friend to many. https://clagnut.com/blog/2448

In countries like Australia, public events open by acknowledging the indigenous peoples of the land. Similarly, a law should be passed so that anyone espousing the virtues of AI should begin by acknowledging the copyrighted material stolen and the wilful damage to the environment (and preferably the now jobless too).

Anyone here have a strong opinion one way or the other about Payload CMS? (https://payloadcms.com/) The whole React / Node.js aspect doesn't fill me with joy or confidence, but maybe i'm wrong?

RE: https://front-end.social/@piccalilli/116097200401916672 You want lists? You got lists! In 2017 my Web #Typography book had ~300 words on styling lists. Now, in 2026, I've written 3000 words on the subject! #CSS sure has moved on... Just look at this lot to try and understand: list-style, list-item, ::marker, counters(), counter(), @counter-style, symbolic, symbols(), symbols.

What’s new in web typography? This is a question I’ll be answering at this year’s https://webdayout.com I’ll run along the cowpaths that have been paved and spend time with the new and shiny things that bring expressiveness, fine detail, responsiveness, consistency and efficiency to your work: variable fonts in all their glory, typographic units, drop-caps, hanging punctuation, `text-box-trim`, container-aware fonts and fluid type. Use JOIN_RICH to get 10% off. #typography #css

I made a big upgrade to my little `font-size-adjust` tool. You can now upload a font, configure some variable axes if needed, and it will spit out the values you'd need for `ex-height`, `cap-height` or `ch-width`. https://clagnut.com/sandbox/font-size-adjust-ex.html #css #typography
