I'm sooo glad #AMD pushes through and finally, step-by-step, add HDMI 2.1 support to their FOSS drivers despite the HDMI Forum's attempt at constant sabotage. Saw in my #CachyOS yesterday that support for 4K120 finally shows up for my TV. ❤️ :blahaj: #Linux

If companies could stop using paper straws and include extremely hard gluten-free pasta straws. That would be fantastic.

Uuhm… do modern OLED HDR TVs have any known issue regarding sudden bright scenes and power? My brand new LG TV literally turned off twice on me in a specific scene where the screen basically shows a flashbang (HDR enabled) straight from a dark scene. Once it stayed off, the second time the red standby LED turned on and off a few times before the TV turned on again. Please tell me this isn't a guarantee issue but something I can fix, I already got rid of all the packaging… 😔 #tv #LG #hardw...

So, uh… I opened #Shelly on #CachyOS to install another browser and the first three recommendations are *all* AI tools. Not sure how to feel about this. No clue how it's determined with Shelly anyway, but given it's probably based on some statistic (it keeps being like this after restarting Shelly or reloading the repo) it still rubs me the wrong way. #Linux #Flathub

All my homies hate the HDMI forum. Also the DP->HDMI adapter I got for 4k120+HDR is either borked or there's some underlying issues with such specs on my system… though since I never had issues like that before with AMD+Gnome I assume it's the adapter. (had a picture for a while before I got colourful snow - in HDR though!) Guess I better just wait for AMD to fix the shit the HDMI forum created. My card *does* support HDMI 2.1 … :| #Linux

Surprised how well the Snapmaker U1 is able to print ABS *without* the chamber enclosure on top. To be fair I use 12mm brims, manual double-layer round brims on corners and copious amounts of 3DLac adhesive spray to make it not warp too much. But still, kinda impressive. Part 2/5 of a new hot air AC exhaust. Fortunately I can print the (way larger) cold intake out of PLA as it never goes above 50°C… hopefully. #3DPrinting #SnapmakerU1

I wondered why #GNUShepherd wouldn't be a more desireable init system than #systemd. Then I saw the Scheme syntax (pic 1, the other is systemd). No wonder there's a clear favourite, even just looking at this… one is a configuration file, the other a dedicated language (inspired by Lisp I guess). I sometimes wonder why some people don't seem to apply the KISS principle to syntax as well… #Linux

Having these print swatches is really useful, especially if you're like me and you keep forgetting how different filaments of the same colour actually look and feel. for example Jayo PLA+ 2.0 White looks less white but has a super smooth finish. Meanwhile eSUN PLA-Basic Cold White is really white but you can see every single imperfection up close. #3DPrinting

Fucking based, not giving them an inch. #systemd should learn from this and not enable this crap, not even *signalling* a teeny tiny amount of support. Wonder what #Motorola will do about this, I don't think they like this. I have no clue how the "BIGTREETECH SFS V2.0" filament sensor got so many positive reviews, it's total garbage. I can't even load the filament in since it always blocks somewhere inside, and even if I get it through the damn thing the sensor adds major resistance to the filament path. Since those cheap sensors that get thrown at you are equally shit I guess the only properly working solution is to build something yourself. God damn it, what a waste of time. #3D...
